Q: What's your approach to working with clients?
A:

First of all—we are not in the business of creating clones. You will not come out of our session "walking, talking and gesturing" like everyone else. We follow the guidance of the great American philosopher—Raquel Welch—who said, "Style is being yourself, but on purpose." With the aid of video taped examples—including you–we help you identify what you’re doing well and the barriers to overcome for greater impact. We then create a personalized plan/process to help you magnify your strengths and break through the barriers.

Q: Do you focus more on style or content?
A:

BOTH are essential. Reaching target audiences is one thing. Giving them content is another. But, developing and delivering a relevant message is the critical ingredient!

Q: Do you video tape participants?
A:

Definitely! It is the fastest and easiest way to help clients identify where to focus their efforts...and to see their progress.

Q: Where do coaching sessions take place?
A:

Always where it is convenient for the client. Whether it’s at the training facilities in our offices or coming directly to you, we’re there when it’s most timely and will have the greatest impact.

Q:

If you’re working "on-site," what equipment does the client need to provide?
A:

You are responsible for having a video monitor, VCR and a flip-chart or white board. In most instances our clients generally have a video camera as well; if not, we supply our own.

Q:

Most of our interviews will be with trade reporters, not the national media. Do your techniques also work with trade press?
A:

Preparing for interviews with the trade press (as well as industry analysts) is one of our specialties! We have extensive experience with reporters at all levels of the business and have designed special techniques for adapting your messages to various audiences.

Q: Will our proprietary interests be kept strictly confidential?
A:

Absolutely!! We are highly concerned about keeping your information confidential. For 20 years Lou Hampton and HG has enjoyed a reputation of maintaining confidence. While we frequently work under formal, signed nondisclosure agreements (NDAs), our unilateral policy is to always operate under NDA circumstances.

Q: What happens after the coaching session(s) are over?
A:

We stay with you. You receive complimentary critiques of audio or video recordings of speeches or interviews you do within one year of your initial session. Naturally you can always reach us whenever you need assistance via phone: 202-686-2020 or via email at .
